Hi everyone and welcome, it’s Loren here from Acting Classes In Perth. In this FREE Online Acting Class, The Top 5 Steps To Active Listening
1. Receiving:
Number one – receiving. Now, avoid distractions, don't interrupt the person who's talking and don't plan your response. Wholeheartedly listen to what they are saying.
2. Understanding:
Then you're going to go through the process of understanding what they've said to you. Followed by remembering what they've said. And a lot of people jump over that. They might be listening but they're not actually engaging and so, few seconds later they might forget what actually being said to them. So, remembering what's being said.
3 and 4. Evaluating and interpreting:
And then you going to leave that to evaluating and interpreting: how does this make you feel, what is your opinions towards this and, maybe, how are you going to respond to them.
Which leads into responding.
5. Responding:
How are you then going to deliver your thoughts, feelings, emotions, back to them, through your forms of communication.
