Video Transcript:
Hi everyone and welcome, it’s Loren here from Acting Classes In Perth. In this FREE Online Acting Class we're going to ask a very important question:
Am I too old to start acting?
Well, the short answer is – no.
Have a great day, we'll see you next time...
No-o-o, ok, I know I can't just leave it there. Look, if someone's told you that you've missed a boat or that you too old, who are they to tell you that? Look, that is just my opinion but you're in control of your life. If you wanna pursue acting, if you wanna give it a shot, maybe you don't have these great aspirations of being a Hollywood actor or actress, maybe you just happy living in Perth, being a part of local community, theater events and, well, that's fine. If that's all you want, if that is success to you as an actor, maybe you're over, you know, forty five or over fifty, than that's absolutely ok. I actually think that's pretty cool. You know, a lot of people would love be to able to step out of their confidence zone, you're the one who thinks about doing it. That's a huge amount of respect to you on that. So, look, no, you're not too old. I think if you interested in acting, give it a shot. Don't forget also that in the older age bracket there is a lot less competition. You modernly be going up against, say, three, four or five other actors for a particular role. Where, if you're in a category maybe 18 to 24 or 25 you might be up against a heck of a lot more actors. So, the odds are actually in your favor if you're, say, over 45.
Well, I hope that helps, I hope that inspires you and maybe put some of those thoughts to rest.
I hope that you have a great day ahead, I hope to see you maybe sometime in the near future. I wish you a great week. Stay safe. And, as always, happy acting.
